Day 20

Hi Everyone,

It's been a busy morning...the primary rudder finally gave way. We're using Hydrovane to steer us to Nuka Hiva....733.5nm.

The Coast Guard has been notified, and we have another sailboat (on their way to Marquesas) who will meet up with us later tonight. They'll escort us in case we need assistance.

So, when we make it to the Equator, we'll let you know.

Love Leslie

  1. Hi Paul and Leslie from Rich H. and Linda R. -- Glad to hear the other boat is meeting up with you tonite. Not knowing much about sailing (Rich), I did a little research on Hydrovane. It looks like a great system that not only can operate as a backup to the primary rudder but generally operates very well as the main rudder if needed :-). My prayers are with you. Looking forward to hearing when you cross the equator -- Linda and I both love champagne!
